Difference in steamed and non-steamed walnut

Steamed walnut turns the sap in the wood from white to a grayish color. This way the sawmills can get more boards per log. We sell non-steamed walnut. This keeps the natural color of the wood. Below is a picture of a steamed, on the left and non-steamed boards, on the right.
